Realtists® are members of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB), the oldest minority trade association in America, founded in 1947. Representing all professional disciplines within the real estate industry, Realtists® promote the highest standards of professional integrity and advocate for "Democracy in Housing"—ensuring that communities of color are treated with dignity and respect.
What We Do ...
NAREB Nashville works to empower real estate professionals, homeowners, and homebuyers through advocacy, professional development, and partnerships. We promote fair housing policies, provide education and resources, and collaborate with organizations to expand sustainable homeownership for African Americans and other minorities.

NAREB Nashville is dedicated to fostering a community of knowledgeable, confident, and successful Black real estate professionals. We offer a robust professional development program that includes training workshops, continuing education courses, targeted resources, mentorship opportunities and networking events. By investing in its members' professional growth, NAREB Nashville ensures Black real estate professionals are well-positioned to be the trusted advisors to black communities working to achieve the dream of homeownership.
Democracy in Housing
NAREB Nashville champions the principle of Democracy in Housing. We believe everyone, regardless of race or ethnicity, deserves access to safe, affordable, and inclusive housing options. We support initiatives that create and maintain a healthy stock of affordable housing units within Nashville and surrounding counties. We advocate for fair housing practices and policies that eliminate racial disparities in homeownership and access to quality housing. We work towards a housing market that welcomes and serves the diverse needs of all residents in Nashville. By advocating for Democracy in Housing, NAREB Nashville strives to create a city where everyone has the opportunity to thrive through stable and affordable housing. This creates a stronger, more vibrant, and equitable Nashville for all.
Empowerment & Education
NAREB Nashville believes that knowledge is power. We empower Black communities to achieve homeownership by equipping individuals with the knowledge they need to understand the home buying process, financing options, and down payment assistance programs, as well as providing workshops and resources that address specific challenges Black communities may face. By empowering Black communities with knowledge and resources, NAREB Nashville dismantles barriers and fosters a culture of informed decision-making. This approach transforms homeownership from a distant dream to a tangible reality for prospective black homeowners in Nashville.
Collaboration & Partnership
NAREB Nashville recognizes that empowering Black individuals to achieve homeownership requires a collaborative effort. We actively build strategic partnerships with a diverse range of organizations, including Financial Institutions, Community Development Organizations, Government Agencies and Educational Institutions. By fostering collaboration and partnerships, NAREB Nashville creates a comprehensive support system that breaks down historical barriers and empowers prospective Black homebuyers on their journey to homeownership. This collaborative approach ensures Black communities have access to the resources, knowledge, and support needed to achieve sustainable homeownership and build generational wealth.
